And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (Luke 21:25)

Subject: Prophetic implications...

Regarding the meteor passing over Israel, I believe there are some interesting things about it. Initially, I didn't quite know what to think because one witness stated that he saw the object moving at an incredible speed with "two" trails. I tried to imagine in my mind what that must have looked like and the first thing that entered my mind was missile, but then I dismissed that idea because there was no news coverage about it landing or any explosion. Then I thought about what Jesus said. "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matthew 24:27). The next thing that entered my mind was the date it happened. "07/08/08. Tuesday's date was a very significant date concerning God's numbers. Seven being rest, perfection, and completion. We know that God does practically everything in sevens'. Did you know for instance that the word "air" is listed in the Bible exactly "7" times? The meteor was seen in the air coming from the east and heading to the west. One of the passages in the Bible concerning "air" is found in 1 Thessalonians 4:7:

"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Then comes eight, which means resurrection and new beginning. Could the Lord have given us a sign in the sky that something is approaching very fast? I thought to myself, what if the Lord did in fact give us such a sign to let us know that Jesus is coming at a time that has to do with seven, i.e., 7-days, weeks. Yet, God would place His sign over Israel.

I think we tend to forget that the Jews were never promised heaven, as in rapture, they were promised the new Kingdom on earth. Jesus told them that they could not know the day or hour where He would establish His Kingdom on earth because they were an unbelieving people. He was not speaking to them about the rapture; there was no need because God never intended the rapture to be for them. The rapture that God showed John in his vision was closed up and sealed until the latter time when the gentiles would be engrafted into the branch, for initially we were the wild olive tree grafted in because of the Jew's unbelief (Romans 11:17-20). What Jesus said in answer to the disciple’s questions was for them, not for the Gentiles, it was strictly for them. In an article I read recently on 5doves, a gentleman noted that the scripture about not knowing the day nor hour actually meant no one knows the day or hour (without effort). (Oida) or (eida): Greek for "knows." I looked it up myself, Strong’s Concordance (see 1492, 3700, 3708) so I am inclined to agree as I have always believed that one can know the day and hour if one is willing to search the matter out. Jesus did say after all, seek and ye shall find. According to the book of Proverbs, God also said that to search a matter out was honorable in His sight. Date setting is not a sin, but honorable in the sight of God. Those who sincerely do it by the leading of the Holy Spirit, scripture, study and confirmation are watchers who actually anticipate Jesus' return, which is exactly what Jesus commanded us to do "watch and pray." In addition, I also happen to believe that the Lord gives us signs of things to come if we watch and pray; why else would He tell us to watch and pray? Are we not watching for signs in the heavens and on earth? Thus, the meteor has I believe great significance.

If the meteor were in fact a sign from God of things to come, then He would certainly place it in the skies over Israel because Israel is the time clock, the star attraction, if you will where everything will culminate, end, and then be established anew (New Jerusalem). Israel is the location that all eyes around the globe should be focused upon, especially every Christian. I don't believe that the rapture necessarily has to come on a given Jewish feast/holy day because the rapture itself has nothing to do with the Jews. The rapture was never promised to the Jewish people. When Paul disclosed the mystery of the church in Ephesians 3:1-6 he addressed the Gentiles concerning this event.

“Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ. Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel” (vs: 5-6).

Another thing that came to mind about the meteor was that I have heard it said many times that whenever a meteor appears in the sky many consider it to be an omen of some sort. It is a tell-tell sign that something is definitely going to happen very soon. This is what one person wrote concerning his thoughts on the matter. I thought it was rather interesting:

“When a comet or meteor passes the earth, it signifies the death of a world class leader. That is (it) passed over Israel causes me to ask people to pray for General Ariel Sharon because the ELS Bible codes at www.biblecodedigest.com say, "HASHEM LOVES A(riel) SHARON." This morning the Lord showed me that Ariel Sharon is like Methuselah in Genesis in some way. The name Methuselah means, "After he is gone, it will come." It was the Great Flood. A catastrophic event is being delayed by General Sharon being alive in my opinion since the Lord loves him so much He said so in Bible codes long ago.

If it is not General Sharon's passing that the comet or asteroid signified, it might be someone else. So I ask that people pray for the leaders of the world and for God to give them wisdom.

If Ezekiel chapter 32 is about to come to pass, then President Bush might be in great danger since he is the leader of the young lion multitude (military) that is prophesied to be destroyed by a sword of the king of Babylon (the

WMD's the news media said did not exist). Premier Putin of Russia recently went to the EU leaders and told them to stay out of a coming conflict when Russian and Red China attack America because they think America caused the earthquakes in China with HAARP over the horizon weather weapons. It is more likely Russia did that if God did not.”

Whether this event was a sign of a war to come, (Russia has threatened the US that they would respond not in diplomatic terms but technical (war?) terms if the recent agreement made by the US and Czech Republic is ratified) or the rapture, both still play very significant roles being almost interchangeable. In other words, the rapture will probably come just before or immediately after the start of the war. I am more inclined to believe it will come before.

Lastly, what if the meteor was a sign leading somehow to August (8), where the following month September (9) destruction would ensue? Just a thought. Anyway, I’m really interested in other views I’m sure will be shared on the 5doves forum.
