Baptist Hymns I Woke Up Singing

I have truly got to say... I am the ONLY person I've ever heard of to whom Father Yahweh speaks IN BAPTIST HYMNS... most of which I haven't heard since I was 18 years old, and I'm now 56!!!  This month (July 2009) He's given me MANY!!!

Softly & Tenderly

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
passing from you and from me;
shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
coming for you and for me.
CHORUS -

Come home, come home;
ye who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

Swing Low, Sweet Chariot

I looked over Jordan and what did I see
Coming for to carry me home
A band of angels coming after me
Coming for to carry me home

Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, the strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle, the next the victor’s song.
To those who vanquish evil a crown of life shall be;
They with the King of Glory shall reign eternally.

Angels From the Realms of Glory

Saints before the altar bending,
Watching long in hope and fear,
Suddenly the Lord, descending,
In His temple shall appear:
Come and worship,
Come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King!

Though an Infant now we view Him,
He shall fill His Father’s throne,
Gather all the nations to Him;
Every knee shall then bow down:
Come and worship,
Come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King!

Great Things He Hath Done

Great things He hath taught us,

great things He hath done,

and great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;

but purer and higher and greater will be

our wonder, our RAPTURE, when Jesus we see.

How’s THAT for a wonderful song to wake up to???  He does that to me quite a bit!

He Leadeth Me

And when my task on earth is done
When by Thy grace the victory's won
E'en death's cold wave I will not flee
Since God through Jordan leadeth me

I Surrender All

All to Jesus I surrender
Humbly at His feet I bow
Worldy pleasures all forshaken
Take me, Jesus, take me now…

I’ll Fly Away

Just a few more weary days and then, I'll fly away
To a land where joy will never end, I'll fly away

Hi, precious Doves!

Remember me telling you about how the Lord will wake me up some mornings with an old Baptist hymn on my mind, and me belting it out, when He has a message for me?  Click HERE for the lyrics:

This morning it was "I Will Tell the Wondrous Story"... Coincidence?  Nah!

This is really getting odd! For the second time this year, I have awakened with a Baptist hymn on my mind! Keep in mind that I haven't been to a Baptist church since I married my first husband in 1978 (I was raised Southern Baptist from about 9 years old until I turned 18). But I remember my Baptist hymns... and a lot of the words to them, even if I CAN'T remember what happened yesterday! <<smiles>> My long-term memory is often phenomenal!

Today I awoke singing "Oh, Worship the King"... and boy, am I ever ready to do just that! Click HERE for the lyrics.

I woke up this morning singing an old Southern Baptist hymn that I grew up with (“We Gather Together”). I haven’t heard this hymn in about 40 years, so I have NO idea why I woke up singing it unless it’s a message from the Lord. Click HERE for the lyrics.

Turn on your speaker, they play the music. And get a load of the next-to-the-last line:

Let Thy congregation escape tribulation;

Coincidence? I think not!
