10 day period

by Rick Wynn to Pastor F.M. Riley

Hello Brother Riley,

I too am incline to believe that the 10 day period mentioned in Revelation 2:10 was for a later time--today.  However, is it possible that the scripture could elude to a prophetic 10 years?  Since 1998, the persecution of Christianity has become so great that many see it as a world epidemic. During these last years we have seen an increase in persecution whereas the cases are no longer isolated cases, but open attacks on Christians and churches almost daily, all over the world. Just a few years ago, (approx. 5 yrs) at the capital building in my home state, Christians came from around the country to demonstrate the persecutions going on around the world.  At this demonstration (situated on the Capital grounds) they had set up all kinds of mock prison cells with torture devices and displays on how Christians are being tortured today.

In some places around the world, these persecutions are as great if not greater than the era of the Spanish Inquisition.  As I walked through these displays and talked to many whom were intimately familiar with such persecutions, via their family members, friends, etc., I was utterly shocked to learn the things I had seen and heard.  In this country especially, it is easy not to notice because there are so many distractions.  Much has been hidden here, yet the evil has become bolder in its schemes as the persecutions have become much more blatantly obvious.  Today, they are no longer hidden but right in the face of Christianity as the world looks the other way distracted and some even cheering it on.

I came across an article posted on International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (http://www.icejusa.org/site/News2?id=5574&page=NewsArticle) and what stuck out was this:

"Today it is Christians who are fleeing Muslim lands by the thousands as terrorism and other actions against them spin out of control. Their suffering persists despite the efforts of such groups as the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, which has since 1998 reported to the President of the United States on matter of religious liberty and persecution."

I can't help but wonder if these past 10 years (since 1998) has been that prophetic 10 days of tribulation Jesus spoke of in Revelation 2:10 culminating in the next 40 days (as of today) on Rosh Hashanah where perhaps Jesus will "snatch" up the saints.  If the rapture does occur on or before Rosh Hashanah, I don't see how the 10 days could fit between that Holy Day and Yom Kippur concerning the rapture.

I would also love your comments on this.  I believe that the Lord has given you the wonderful gift of seeing beforehand what eventually becomes to some us the obvious, so I respect and take into great consideration every message you put out for I know it is of God.

Thank you Pastor Riley and God bless!

Your Brother in Christ forever,

Rick Wynn
